Fur Vests: Winter's Must-Have

I have a few signature wardrobe staples that have come to define my sense of style: oversized sunglasses, stacks of gold jewelry and, weather permitting, fur vests. Rarely am I seen without any or all of these tried and tested favorites. And now that temperatures are falling, fur vests are now as fashionably apropos as the quintessential little black dress or the much-sought after tailored white button-downed shirt. And what better way to upgrade your winter outfit than with mink, fox and chinchilla vests. Layer over dresses or ripped jeans, or pair with leather skinny pants for the chicest of chic outfits.

Fur vests are equally versatile, complimenting your choice of footwear. They pair well with the highest of heels to the most demure ballet flats.  And don't rule out colored fur. Purple and red are my top winter choices, as are multi-colored coats that compliment the flashiest of party dresses.

A word of fashion advice: just as diamonds jazz up any outfit, fur vests instantly add a dose of glamour, turning a simple outfit into a runway-worthy achievement. If you're like me and believe in stylish excess, consider layering lots of jewelry under your vest or adding a ornamental brooch

I owe my green eyes and gumbo-cooking talent to my Creole genes. And when I'm not blogging all things chic, me and my fur baby Lola Bean Pod are living it up in Atlanta.
